Spoilers/Timeline: This is set immediately after (my reworking of) the TW S1 finale and picks up in the Who timeline in the first minute or so of "Utopia" before veering off into a complete (sadly-lacking-in-the-Master) AU. This chapter contains blink-and-you-miss-'em spoilers for Ianto's backstory as shown in Torchwood 2.12.
Word Count: 2841 (this chapter)
Summary: Rose slipped through a hole in the universe and was reunited with Jack in modern-day Cardiff. So what happens when the Doctor and Martha make a pit stop?
Notes/Disclaimer: This is the sequel to my fic Pawns in the Game, which was a rewrite of the Torchwood S1 finale that reunited Jack and Rose. Without the moral support of my incomparable beta tinuviel428, I would be lost and this fic probably never would have been posted. It isn't strictly necessary to have read Pawns in the Game to read this fic, but I think it helps. If Doctor Who were mine, I'd never have needed to write this in the first place ;)

Last chapter, guys! Now I just need to start brainstorming what comes next... Thanks to all of you who've been leaving feedback and encouragement. Hopefully the muse will cooperate and I'll be seeing you again soon for the continuing adventures of everyone's favorite threesome ;)

    Yes, I do have long curly hair.  Thank you for complimenting me on it.  However, do not continue to stare at me while breathing heavily and then ask if you can touch it.  I don't care if it's soft and you like curly hair, it's mine and you are creeping me the hell out.  If my very large and protective boyfriend were here, he would kill you.  Please leave me alone while I, now very quickly, finish ringing up your items.

Dear big-boobed teenagers,
    I see that you have large breasts as evidenced by the 36DDs you are buying.  Yes, I know mine are smaller since they're only a 34A.  I really don't care.  Don't sit there snickering and saying things like, "I bet you wish you could wear bras that large."  I really don't want to.  I'm small and perfectly happy with my proportionate chest and the knowledge that while yours will give you back problems and most likely sag to your knees, my back will feel wonderful while my breasts stay above my navel.

    What did I do to you to deserve such rude behavior?  All I said to you was hello in the happiest manner possible.  I did not deserve the reply of "I don't need to talk to you, just ring up my items."  Not only that, but you proceeded to glare at me the whole time.  Here's a tip, be nice to your cashier.  She'll be more willing to help you out and to point out any free items or discounts you may be missing out on and to do it with a smile on her face.

As for DW, this series is meant to take place between Voyage Of The Damned and Partners In Crime. I put in my two weeks' today! I still work as a bartender/cocktail waitress, but I won't have to deal with people who either assume that I've read every book in the store or expect me to be illiterate and not have read anything.

( Some general notes )

Specific people:
I'm sorry you don't speak English, but I don't speak Vietnamese. I can speak bits and pieces of French, German, Italian, and even Russian. Reiterating whatever it is you said in Vietnamese seven times, louder each time, does not mean I will begin to understand you. And you still can't do a return without a receipt.

I'm sorry we don't yet have the magazine you want. You wouldn't even shut up for five seconds so I could tell you that we don't have it in yet. I understand that the publisher of the magazine told you that we'd have it, but as of Monday, you said he didn't know why it wasn't in stores in the US yet? It's only Thursday. Give it a couple of days. If he's not returning your calls, it's probably because you don't shut up! This did not require a five minute phone call. Even if you wanted to say more than the average, it could very easily have gone like this "Do you have Kurv? I'm not sure it's in stores yet, I've been having trouble finding it because it's a new international publication." "No, sorry, we don't have it yet. I'd recommend calling back in a week or so." "Ok, thank you." But no, she kept me on the phone at least three minutes after I said it wasn't even in our computer system yet. ::facepalm::
